An excellent tropical fruiting plant for containers, this selection of Jaboticaba is early fruiting with flowers and fruit appearing when plants are 2-3’ tall. Unlike the standard Jaboticaba, which can take 5-12 years to fruit, ‘Precoce’ usually begins fruiting in its third year. Also known as the Brazilian Grape, the fruit forms on the old woody stems and ripens to a shiny black ball with a sweet interior pulp that surrounds the seed. It flowers and fruits on and off throughout the year and mature plants are highly productive.
Please note: Tip burn on the leaves is normal and does not affect how the plant grows, flowers, or fruits. Giving the plant rain water can help reduce tip burn.

So far, it has been with me for about a month, and seems to be doing well in a pot in a semi-sunny spot in the backyard. I will eventually plant it in the ground once I feel it is strong enough.
